Can someone explain to me what DataGlue is? Does it run within the box vs WTX (i.e. WebSphere Transformation Extender), which is called externally? Can you compare and contrast it to the XSLT stylesheets feature? Is this approach to non-XML transformation within Data Power "going out of favor" and should I be looking at using WTX instead? _________________ Thanks!!!

Dataglue was DataPower's answer to non-xml transformations before IBM. They have now also embedded a TX engine in the xi50's - so you get both dataglue and tx... up to you which to use... I personally think a full blue solution (TX) would be a better choice for ya than the dataglue unless you've already built many maps in dataglue. _________________ IBM Certified - SOA Solution Designer & WebSphere Datapower SOA Appliances |

Thanks for the quick reply!!! OK, so with the latest release (i50), I can run a WTX inside. I was reading what I thought was the most current manuals and it looked to be configured externally. Sounds like WTX is the obvious choice. Is that the main difference between the i50's and S40's, this additional transformation(s) functionality? _________________ Thanks!!!

Jus be informed, the latest release of WTX no longer integrates with DP. IBM is burning its resources to fix this bug ( elementary functionality _________________ Supreeth Gururaj

DataGlue is just an API that makes it possible to run mappings generated with an external tool. To my knowledge it is still being used for running WTX maps from within an xformbin action. The original non-IBM tool for creating binary mappings, Contivo Analyst, is the tool that has been replaced with WTX. |
