Folks,

Our MQ monitoring tool is able to call an external program under certain events.

In this case, I have found a small snmp client called trapgen, which sends snmp traps to a server.

BUT I noticed there is an oid field that needs to be supplied. I fear that putting anything arbitrary I may conflict with other devices that send snmp traps through our enterprise.

Any tips on how to assign a proper oid?
