I have a queue manager name SAMPLE and I faced the following problem
C:\Documents and Settings\patrick>dspmq
QMNAME(SAMPLE) STATUS(Ended immediatey
amqmdain start SAMPLE
AMQ8118: WebSphere MQ queue manager does not exist.
When I checked I found under registry, the registry key for queue manager
The Prefix string was blank. But the queue manager has got created successfully in "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ" directory. But the same has not got updated in the registry. Now if I correct by adding the path value to the Prefix string, i'm able to start the queue manager. But my question is why the registry entry update has failed?
Also I got an FDC file with the error UNEXPECTED_SYSTEM_RC for amqmdain start command.
Can somebody please tell why the registry entry update failed? |

Refer to the WMQ System Administration Guide for amqmdain.
The manual says that the syntax is: qmgr start QMgrName.
So, according to the syntax, you should have entered:
amqmdain qmgr start SAMPLE _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Both syntaxes are correct
amqmdain start QMGRNAME
amqmdain qmgr start QMGRNAME |

So they are. I stand corrected.
Does the strmqm command work from a c: prompt?

Also I got an FDC file ... |
The FDC will offer some clue as to why. If nothing else, browse through IBM support.
What version of WMQ? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
