hi,

I receive a message with encoding 273 and CCSID 37.
i have to parse it as a TDS message because of repeating structures.

How come I cannot add EBCDIC signed properties on the physical attributes.
This is causing me problems as I'm unable to parse negative decimals.

Any ideas ? Somebody has to had this problem before ...

PS I'm running on a v5 broker

You can't do this until v6.1.

You could open a PMR and ask for this feature to be added to v5, except for two things. One is that you're out of support and thus can't open ANY PMRs on v5, and two... it's implemented in v6.1.

Is there no workaround for this ?

parsing the complete message as string and TDS, individually reparsing segments as CWF ... something like that ?

Does that sound like a good idea ?

No, parsing as TDS will almost certainly mangle the binary data to the point that it's not parseable as CWF.

You can do "enough" parsing as BLOB, manually, to make the message parseable as CWF - things like counting repeats and inserting counts.

But you really need to push back on management to upgrade to v6.1

"Out of Support" == "Significant Business Risk".
