This could be purely an AIX misconfiguration, but anyway, what I am trying tot do is to do a typical installation of MB 6.1 on AIX 5.3 using DB2 9.1 as broker database.
All the installations went well, I was able to create/test database, Queue manager, and config manager. When I run the command to create a broker, it comes back with the following error:
"BIP8222E: Unable to find ODBCINI file ''.
Could not find the ODBCINI file '', which is specified by the ODBCINI environment variable.
Ensure that the ODBCINI environment variable points to an existing ODBCINI file."
This does not make any sense to me because when I test the same variable the error message is complaining about using:
cat $ODBCINI
I get the contents of the odbc32.ini file!
Any ideas what I did wrong? suggestions to troubleshoot this? |

check the documentiation. You sure it shouldn't be pointing to odbc64.ini ??

Thanks for your feedback. That fixed half of the problem. It is odbc64.ini that I needed to point to.
I also had another problem which is that I was not EXPORTing my ODBCINI variable so that is why when I run the create broker command, it was not seeing my odbc file. |
