Hi - I just installed MQ Client version 6
+++
C:\> dspmqver
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.0.0
CMVC level: p000-L050519
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)
+++
And I am trying to install any available Fix Pack for it ....
In the MQ Support page
>>> http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/support/download.html
theres is nothing (I can find) related to MQ Client ...
Am I right ? There are no FixPack's for Mq Client ?
Thanks. |

Gaya - I have the URL, I have the time,
...
just didn't find anything
...
so I am asking ...
Is there any Fix Pack for MQ Client version 6 ?
Because if I didn't find it, it can mean 2 things :
a) I cant find it, but it exists.
b) there are no fix packs for mq client version 6
If you use the Search button in this page,
you shall get 6 items,
as I did,
that are CSD's for version 5.3 ...
>>> CSD05, 13, 07, 06, 09 and z/OS ...
Cheers. |

No, I dont have any errors.
I just installed a new MQ Client,
and if they exist any MQ Client Fixes
I would like to install them now.
But the 6.0.2.3 Fix Pack is 200 MB
and it says it is for MQ Server .. or NOT ?
I mean, I dont know if the fixes for MQ client come standalone
or are integradted into "general" MQ.
It is not logical to download fix pack 6.0.2.3 that is 236 MB
if the product (MQ Client v6) is 120 MB.
URL >>>
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24017980
says
This is fix pack 6.0.2.3 for WebSphere® MQ V6.0
Prerequisites
Install this fix pack on top of IBM WebSphere® MQ V6.0.0.0, V6.0.1.0, V6.0.1.1, V6.0.2.0, V6.0.2.1 or V6.0.2.2.
I mean - is it a fix pack for MQ CLIENT or not ???
Cheers. |

If yo installed the Client code from your server CD, then you use the standard MQ fixpack (all x00 MB of it). It will only install the bits you need.
I'm not sure about the situation if you used a an MQ Client only install CD as I've never done that.
If you downloaded the client, then you just download the latest version and replace. _________________ Cheers,

Yes, you download "236.634.397 6.0.2-WS-MQ-WinIA32-FP0003-EnUs.zip"
then run "171.847.834 WebSphereMQMDV6.0.2.3EnUs.exe"
and you get
c:\> dspmqver
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.2.3
CMVC level: p600-203-080123
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)
I dont like those "clever" programs that do things for you
without asking ... you know - when they go nuts,
your installation becomes crazy .... without a word.
Cheers. |

Just download the latest client from the IBM site. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You don't uninstall any WMQ component to upgrade

You can't run 2 versions of any WMQ component on the same box (except on z/OS and that's stretching a point) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
