Why would it be any different than for any other configuration under a supported OS?

| do you mean same installation procedure is used for single processor /dual processor machine? there is no option to be selected or extra steps to be taken for dual processor machine? same trial version available on the IBM site is used foe installation be it single processor or dual processor machine? |

AFAIK there's only one version of WMQ per OS/instruction set. I'm prepared to be corrected there. I know that for various flavours of Unix it's the same install on a 4-way as it is on an 8-way.
Why do you think there should be a dual processor version? Is this Windows? What errors are you getting on installation?

I've never heard of any software that did have specific versions based on the core count. mquser01, can you name some of them?

i am currently using websphere MQ version 7. therez an exe named runmqchl thats running continuosly when send/receive via MQ channels is going on. i did pidstat on runmqchl and it showed that it uses both the processor i.e. dual processor.
But in config or in help its no where mentioned that mq uses dual processor. |

There is no mechanism in MQ to control which processor any given piece of the system uses.
There is no mechanism in MQ to artificially limit the number of processors that MQ can use.
MQ will always make use of every processor that is available to the logical machine instance it is running in.
If you have a ten core machine that you want to only use MQ on 4 processors, then use a virtual machine/LPAR. |
