Please can someone confirm to me that this is how things should work or am i missing something here. V5 + CSD10 on Windows:-

simple flow with
MQIinput ---- trace ---- compute node --- trace ---- MQOutput

MQInput node - MRM with TDS with group delimiter <CR><LF>

As you can see made up of about 3 or 4 occurences.
I copy input root to output root. The problem is when i change the index of say 2 of the Previous Reference fields to another string value relevant to the field type and length when it comes to write out the format in the MQOutput node it fails saying that the Manadatory element SenderMasterRef is empty and needs a vlaue either by creation or default. and yet to me the structure has not changed just 2 values. The message if just written from input to output goes through fine. am i missing something here??
