I'm trying to check for the latest updates for my 6.1 Toolkit. I hit Scan for Updates and every few minutes I get a popup saying:

The content of the update site "this part varies" is also available on the mirrors listed below. You may choose to select a mirror instead of the default update site. |
If I click cancel the update ends. Otherwise I have to sit there and select a mirror site for each and every sub component of the toolkit every few minutes and click OK. There has got to be a better way. How I can I get it to not look for the mirror site and just update from one site? _________________ Peter Potkay

You are using Installation Manager? Or the Eclipse update site?
You should mostly be using Installation Manager... And only update things from Eclipse update installer that you have added in yourself.
Updating the base eclipse, for example, could break your toolkit...
That said, there is a preference in Eclipse for "auto-select" the mirror. My 6.1 toolkit is taking a minute or two to launch, so I can't yet say where it is. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Heh.
"Automatically select mirrors" on the main page of the "Install/Update" preferences. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I was firing up the Toolkit and from the Help menu selecting Software Updates...Manage Configuration. Then selecting Scan For Updates. Is that right?
Or should I not start up the Toolkit and launch Installation Manager from the Start Menu and update that way?
I found that Preferences setting in the Toolkit Options, thanks. So right now its slowly chugging away (I used the 1st method I listed above) _________________ Peter Potkay

I think Installation Manager is the only way to get iFixes?
But I also haven't tried the other way. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
