All the gui is doing in response to the right click you mention is issue a PING CHANNEL command. You can do this yourself via runmqsc. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Before the Mods steam in, may I suggest - very politely - that you either read the manual, or use Mr. Google.
The use of runmqsc is bread-and-butter administration work - and going by your post count I really think you should be beyond asking this type of question. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Then under no circumstances should you be trying to administer it!
Whilst I'm forced to admire your honesty (and suggest exerk has another look at your post count), I would give you the same cautionary warning I would hope someone would give me if I was trying to administer an Oracle database!
The runmqsc command is not just bread and butter, it's absolutely fundamental and also straightforward command line technology. If you claim (as you did) to be so new as to need step by step instructions to issue the ping, how will you interpret the results and then resolve the issue in the post?
To more positive matters: you'll find the commands and the runmqsc command described in detail in the information center; there's a link at the top of this page. As a newbie administrator, I also commend the system administration guide to you. Take a few minutes out, review these publications, then off you go. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Which explains why my apology to Ayhamov has appeared elsewhere... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

The same place you ran "DEFINE CHANNEL".
Even as a newbie, you have certain requirements to faciliate your own learning.
You are going to have a much much better experience here if you take time to read and think about the answers you've gotten, try things, and read and think about the documentation. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
