Hi there,
We have an AIX server running MQ 5.3 CSD13 (I know... I know... moving to MQ 6 soon!). This server is going to be replaced with a new one shortly. In order to minimize impact to the client I have setup the exact same queue manager and channel definitions on the new server as they are on the old server (ie: used saveqmgr). During the cut over to the new servers, all channels will be stopped and network communications will be severed between us and our client. The network guys will do their thing, ie: re-run cables, re-NAT stuff on the firewall so the client doesn't make any changes on their end, ie: they still connect to the same IP. After the cut over the client will be connecting up to the new queue manager (same name, etc.) on the new hardware. Will there be channel sequence problems? Would it be a good idea to reset my channel sequence on the new hardware to let say 1 and ask the client to do the same?
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, likely.
If you reset sender channels, they will reset the receiver. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
