Hi!

I installed a Toolkit 6.1 on an XP environment. Main parameters:

IBM Installation Manager V 1.1.0.1 (1.1.1.20071121_1140)
IBM® WebSphere® MessageBroker Toolkit
V 6.1.0.101 (6.1.0.20071218_1344_20080131_1107)

I loaded message flow project from Toolkit 6.0 environment

When I started to work in this new environment, i found two problem inmediately.

1. I use hungarian keyboard, and I have to push Alt Gr + G buttons together to write ] character. In this new environment "dear" developers bind search function to this combination. I had to delete Crtl + Alt + G button combination.

2. My main problem is the next. When I edit an ESQL module in the ESQL editor, in some cases when I press a character somewhere the code, the modified row "jump" to the bottom of the pane. If the cursor is in the middle of the row, and I press a down arrow, the cursor "jump" to the begining of the next row. With these circumstances I cannot use this EDITOR, but I need it.

Can anybody help me?!

Thanks

Balazs

That sounds like a combination of things...

First thing to do with any Toolkit problem is restart with -clean.

Second thing to do is consider increasing Java heap.

But I think you need to open a PMR...

For the ESQL editor problem, I had some comments:

- I tried to shot down the toolkit, and reload it.
- I restarted whole system.
- I deleted .metadata directory under the workspace, and import the whole project again.

Nothing.

In some parts in the ESQL code I can edit without jumping, but in other parts it is always jumping.
I have no idea, what can be the difference these parts.

I checked ESQL editor properties, but did not found anything useful.

Regards

First, try the -clean.

That is, change your command "wmbt.exe" to "wmbt.exe -clean".

Then you can try adding -Xmx and -Xms to your startup if that doesn't work.

But I really think you need to open a PMR.

Some other comments

- I uninstall toolkit 6.1 and installation manager, change all regional settings to English(United States), then reinstall them. At the end of it i recognized, both version were different from those, which were given in my first letter

Installation Manager V 1.1.1 (1.1.1000.20080317_1735)
IBM® WebSphere® MessageBroker Toolkit V 6.1.0.102

I suprised. Difference on the Inst. Manager side is mistic, maybe I made some mistake during the first install. The second difference caused, because during the fixpack install Inst. Manager could connect to the web and reach the new interim fix 002.

But the problem was not sold.

So, the regional setting is doesn't matter in this case.

- Interim fix 002 was removed. (I reached version 6.1.0.0) After it the jumping has gone!!!!!

- I installed interim fix 001 (did not let Inst. Manager to reach the web). The jumping came back.

- I removed interim fix 001 again (back to 6.1.0.0 version) Jumping has gone again.

--------------------------------------------------
So. I think these interim fixes have some defect.

--------------------------------------------------
I will try pure Fix Pack 1 tomorrow.

The brand new interim fix 003 is not help.

The PRM was made, the "higher level" support is checking the problem.

My colleague tested it all day. He found something.

There are 3 test cases. Before all we closed all editor pane.

1).
- We opened a message flow from a development perspective on the left side of the toolkit 6.1.
- On a compute node, we opened an ESQL file.
- We scrolled down the code of the module, and hit a key.
- The code didn't jump!

2).
- We opened an ESQL file from a development perspective on the left side of the toolkit 6.1.
- We went to the middle of it without using Outline pane.
- We pressed a key.
- The code didn't jump!

3)
- We opened an ESQL file from a development perspective on the left side of the toolkit 6.1.
- We went to the middle of it WITH USING Outline pane.
- We pressed a key.
- We could see a beautiful jump.

So, IBM made some modification on the ESQL editor in the first 6.1 Fixpack which couse this defect.

There is some correlation between this defect and usage of Outline pane during the ESQL edition. After a first usage of Outline pane the ESQL editor gets a headache and goes to this "happy editing mode".

After a long-long letter exchange IBM believed this problem is exists on a real life, not only in my imagination, and they wrote me the following:

The new update ESQL version will be available in GA2 release. IZ20818 this is the APAR number raised for this issue at the end of May.

Hi,

The new toolkit fix (6.1.0.2) was born. This problem has been fixed in it.
