Whenever we set the DataSource for Broker to access database using mqsisetdbparms command the DSN userid and password will be saved in /var/mqsi/registry/(BrokerName).
The userid is saved as normal string and password is saved encrypted.
Is there any way to decrypt that password. _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |

Is your query concerning the recovery of a lost password, or concerning the security of the encryption method (e.g. as part of an audit report) ?
AFAIK there's no published way to do this; a PMR may be of use.
I'm uncertain that anyone who's found a way of doing this would admit it on a public forum.
I'm uncomfortable with the method (if it exists) being published on this public forum. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There's no reason to recover the password.
Reset it on the database. Then re-issue mqsisetdbparms. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Reset it on the database. Then re-issue mqsisetdbparms.

I'm sure it's theoretically possible.
I'm equally sure that no good will come of a) figuring out how to do it, b) publishing said method.

See my comments above. If you do figure out a way, I've got this private key I've forgotten the passphrase for....
