Hi,

I got a call from the network team who said that a server was spamming the DNS server with about 500+ DNS lookups per second.
The requests was for an ip that belongs to my client computer which doesn't have a reverse dns entry.

The server in question is a SuSE linux server running MQ 6.0.1.1 to which I connect using broker toolkit, mqmon & rfhutil on a SSL'ed client channel (selfsigned exchanged certificates).

A netstat check on the server indicates that my client has 5 established MQ related connections and 77 CLOSE_WAIT (yes, we should enable keepalive).
However, a netstat check on my client reveals no MQ related connections to the server.

Nothing in any MQ logs related to this, what could cause this behaviour?

Thanks, the question wasn't about the CLOSE_WAIT connection but why the DNS spamming occurs.

Also, you should upgrade to 6.0.2.3... 6.0.1.1 is troublesome on a lot of fronts.

I wish it was that easy, some corporations aren't that fast when it comes to updates though :/

Thanks, for the hint though...found this:

I didn't expect a bug that specific to your situation... Well,

And now you have a driver to apply the update...
