Even on NSK, v5.1 is out of support... Please at least migrate to v5.3...

Do a quick audit of what's on the v5.1 & how critical to the business it is. Put together a rough figure of how much money will be lost when it breaks, plus how much it'll cost to fix, plus how much will be lost if it can't be fixed. Use how much it's going to cost to get SSL working as a starting point.
Then show whoever it is up to this number, point out it's down to him to report to the senior management not you, and ask if he's got unemployment insurance. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Not in plain vanilla V5.1 there are no fields for SSl in the channel definitions. There are 3rd party packages but they add $$$. V53 is the only way to go. V53 has performance enhancements that make the change worth the cost and effort and very soon you will have NO support from IBM think it is sunset V5.1 4/7/2008 ( next week).
Hopefully IBM will decide to do a version 6 or higher to match the rest of the MQ available. If you get to V53 you will want to got 53.1.2 which is supposed to be released shortly!
HTH Cheers! |
