We have installed MQ v6.0.2 on a Windows 2003 server. At first, we saw the icon for the Websphere MQ Alert Monitor which has the launch buttons for the Event Viewer and Websphere MQ Explorer in the task bar in the lower right.
After we rebooted to solve a security problem, MQ is apparently running, but the Alert Monitor is nowhere to be found. I can run the Explorer manually, but have not found the Event Viewer. Can I launch the alert monitor manually? If so, where is it? Any thoughts what might cause this? How do I get it back? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist

There is an option in MQ Explorer to show or hide this icon. Looks like you have it turned off. _________________ Peter Potkay

We still have an issue with this now. I have reset this multiple times via the cmd line and the MQ Explorer and sometimes it has no effect whatsoever! I know this might not make much sense, but we have two admins using this particular system, and it seems that when one admin's task bar is turned on, the other's gets turned off. What could be causing this? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist
