We are using MQ Series v5.3 CSD 05 on Windows 2003 EE SP1 in a clustered environment.Different remote queue Managers are sending messages to our cluster Queue .On one of the remote QM,one day, we observed that heavier messages were not getting transfered to the cluster Queue. After we ran our Put Msg Java programs, the messages would remain in the 'SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE' of the remote QM.
It was also observerd that the current depth of the 'SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE' would decrease at times and simultaneously the current depth of the cluster Queue (at the receiving end ) would increase. But we could not browse the messages(the messages were not visible there). Then after some time, the current depth of the 'SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE' would again resume back(increase) to it's original state and simultaneously the current depth of the cluster Queue (at the receiving end ) would decrease.
But if we are trying to upload the lighter file(of size 19KB) they are getting transfered and getting picked up by the GetMsg Application at the receiver end normally.
We are not able to find any particular error in the logs.
Request to help/give directions.
Regards,

For starters, upgrade to WMQ v6. |

This sounds like the channel is putting the messages across inside of a unit of work and you can't browse them because they aren't really there. Something then happens (network error?) and the channel rolls them back. You might try decreasing your batch size? |

Decrease batch size is a thought, yes. Better to look for channel errors and troubleshoot those - there's no guarantee that this is an issue with log space on the receiving side. It could be issues with file space in general on the receiving side. Or network problems... although not as likely, I think. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanx jeff and bower for all the useful posts.
There was a network issue which came to our knowledge only after about seven days. An experienced network guy found out that the packets were dropping(about 5% were dropping) when pinging.
A Firewall load balancing equipment had to be restarted(reset) and soon the things were back to normal. But the users had to miss out on seven business days(during this time, they resumed back to old methods, hardcopy/media-floppy,CD,DVD-message transfers ).
Thanx once again.
