Has anyone converted such a setup to a cluster setup and what gotcha are there to be aware? We are running MQ V6 on our AIX and Zos machines.
Will all the non clustered channels and QRs need to be removed?
If I am not mistaken would not a non clustered channel be called before a clustered channel?
Also I been reading on here abiout locking down the system cluster transmit queue. Would the aix machines need to have QAs defined on them when sending to the Zos machines? Would the AIX needs QAs defined also to another AIX for a request reply setup to lock down that SCTQ?
Basically any blueprint someone may have used before would be great.
I am aware of setting up the FRs and making every other qmanager a partial repository from a previous question I asked earlier.

Thanks

Start by reading the WMQ Queue Manager Clusters manual, especially the section on 'setting up a cluster.'

You may continue to have non-cluster (private) objects, like channels and queues, that are not part of the cluster. You need only define as part of the cluster those objects that you want to be part of the cluster.

Not necessarially

You are mistaken. The use of a clustered or non-clustered channel is decided entirely by your configuration.

That depends entirely on how you want to run your cluster.

Again this depends entirely on how you want to use your cluster, and by extension why you're going from a point-to-point to a clustered setup.
