Is it possble to install MQ Workflow on a server and use an existing queue manager instead of letting Workflow create the queue manager?

I work in a large MQ shop and we have IBM & Business Partner carrying our our first Workflow installation. However, they only seem to be experienced in setting up a system taking the defaults. I've been looking over their shoulder and they chose a Server installation from the installation menu (on AIX). When it got to the queue manager configuration, the Workflow installation program seemed to insist on creating a queue manager and not allowing that step to be bypassed.

The MQ administration group have their own standards and some of the things that conflict with Workflow queue manager are:

1. Creating a single node cluster
2. Entries in /etc/services and inetd instead of using runmqlsr
3. Creation of a channel table
4. No choice of queue manager parameters such as log sizes.

We also don't want any IDs other than mqm in the mqm group so it should only authorise the fmc ID to use the queue manager.

If it's not possible to use a pre-defined queue manager, would it be a problem to backup the objects and authorities of the new queue manager, delete and rebuild the queue manager to our standards?

Does anyone have any idea why it's insisting on creating a cluster, albeit single node?

Any advice would be appreciated.
