Hi varshasvin

There are lots of parameters, indeed you have to tune the Adapter accordingly to see the best performance
PollQuantity, PollFrequency, jms.NumConcurrentRequests,Maximum Database Connections

IMHO, Performance considerations are a must, but they do not dictate the need for using multiple instances. It should a design decision to determine the need for additional instances.
