Hya,
I've been trying to generate a WSDL file from a message set i've created in v6.1 (with the corresponding toolkit). I've done this before in version 6, but apparently they changed the method.
Now, in the literature which comes with the installation CD there's a chapter called "Generating a WSDL definition from a message set" which states:
Quote: |
In the Broker Development view, right-click the message definition file from which you want to generate a web service definition and select Generate > WSDL Definition. This starts the Generate WSDL wizard. |
However, the 6.1 literature on the IBM website the same chapter states:
Quote: |
In the Broker Development view, right-click the message set file from which you want to generate a web service definition and select Generate > WSDL Definition. This starts the Generate WSDL wizard. |
Happily, neither works (insert cynicism here), for different reasons: right clicking the message set reveals no "generate" menu at all, while right clicking the mxsd does have a "generate" menu, but it only has a "XML schema" option. It is impossible to use the v6 option (new > WSDL definition) since it has been removed in 6.1.
I've tried this with the WS samples and with my own message sets, with or without a category, but to no avail. I've read the literature, and searched for posts and redbooks, but came out empty handed. Has anyone done this in 6.1?
(Oh, my next step would be to somehow get WMB to expose the WSDL as WS-I service, so if anyone has any tips on that matter...) |

Make sure you're at v6.1.0.1 of Toolkit...
And, apparently, where you are supposed to click to the get the Generate WSDL is on the "Message Set Folder", which contains the mxsds and mset. This is the first folder below the Message Set Project.
At least, that's where it is in my Toolkit. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Well I'll be! It is indeed on the folder itself, I was sure I tried it.
It should be said in my defence that I was misled by the lit, but I feel no less silly for it. There's another hour wasted..
Thanks Jeff |
