Hi

I installed MQ Series evaluation version on Solaris 10 Box. I am able to create a Queue Manager and Queues also. But while to check the functionality I tried to put message using "amqsput". But it is saying "command not found". I checked in bin directory and found amqsput, amqsputc, amqsget and amqsgetc are not existing. what can be the problem? how to solve it or any alternative for the issue??

Hi

Don't double post...

Which bin directory you have searched

I am not sure the evaluation version comes with full source code... and sample..

Look for /opt/mqm/samp/bin.

You can use the OS utility "find" to look for the files. But if they aren't in the directory above, you probably won't find them anywhere else.

1) wait until you've bought a licensed version and install them
2) ftp them from a box where they are installed
3) write your own
4) download a support pac with similar functionality
5) download and compile the source from either IBM or Roger's Capitalware site
6) etc
7) etc

Aside from that, you're stuck.

I'm working on a Solaris system that doesn't have the sample files installed, however I now need to create an XA switch file using the file xaswit.mak. Can I install the sample files by running the version 6 installation again, or do I need to take v6 off completely before reinstalling MQ?

Alternatively, is the xaswit.mak file available? I had a search on the internet and couldn't find it, unfortunately none of the Solaris installations at this site have the sample files installed.

Hi

Basis on the post, i guess you have installed a Trial version on ur solaris system

if that is the case, you have to un-install the version and install the licenced MQ V6

Assuming that's to me Gaya, it's a fully licensed install that didn't have the sample files included when running the original install. So I'd like to know if I can simply run the install again, and select only the Samples option, or if I have to go through the entire MQ install process again. It's a Solaris server that is in fairly constant use, so I'd like to keep any outage to a minimum.

AFAIK Solaris doesn't allow an installed package to be reinstalled so you'd need to remove then readd the package.

If it was me I'd copy them from another box. Even if you could re-run the install. Faster and easier!

That's what I thought, though I was hoping in this case (as it's not really installing anything afaik, just moving files into directories) that might not be necessary

And I don't think there's an MQ version 6 Solaris machine with the sample files installed anywhere here, so I guess I'll be doing the uninstall\reinstall bit.

Thanks for your help though.

Or pulling down the source from one of the areas I mentioned if you've access to a compiler.......

I'd thought the samples in Solaries were a subpackage in the whole distribution?

Like SMIT has different file sets and RPM has different packages.

When I've done it, it goes in as a single package called mqm.

Not convinced that proves anything though. I can get 10, maybe 12 people in here who've seen me be wrong.

I would concurr with Jeff. I believe the samples like Java need to be specified as options if you want to do the full install.

Enjoy
