I am planning out my company's upgrade from WMQ 5.3 on Windows to 6.0. Right now, 5.3 resides on a regular domain server, but we are moving to an MSCS cluster. I have installed 6.0 on the cluster and got everything running without trouble. My question is, can I use saveqmgr (or some other utility) to export my queue manager objects from 5.3, then import those settings directly into 6.0? Since I'm not upgrading in place, I need some way to recreate the queue manager, queues, and channels on the new cluster, and I'd rather not recreate everything manually if possible.
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, this is an excellent use of MS03.
The one caveat is that you won't have any v6 specific parameters on these objects - so it will take the default values for those. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.

Sorry, two caveats.
DO NOT USE the -v flag.
This doesn't do what you might think it does, and will cause problems that you don't need. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

He replied while I was in the middle of editing my reply to include the first caveat. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
