There isn't an official standard, that I'm aware of.

There is this:

I Knew this
I wanted to check the existence of an XML schema.
The obvious reason is that I need it.
So I will probably have to spend my next week-end to write it.

unless this is some educational program you are on, I can assure you that buying a 99 euro package is a lot more efficient then spending your weekend...
