hai

i am trying to retrieve record from the table using passthru for assingning it to the variable. i am sucessful in retrieving from the data base but the problem is that i am getting the data along with that column
name.
ex:b=eno=prasad;

can any one help me is their any way to retrieve only the column value from the table and assingn it to the variabe.
ex:b=prasad;

You should only use PASSTHRU if your query can't be run with ESQL Select.

It's not clear why PASSTHRU would be returning the column name as well as the value in the value.

Please show your statement.

If you did this with ESQL SELECT, you could use THE and/or ITEM.
