Hi all,
I am trying to install WAS JMS client on an AIX platform so that we can send messages from WMB to SIBus on WPS appserver. I was able to successfully configure this setup on Windows, but on AIX when I issue the
java - jar sibc*.... command I get some errors I certainly wasn't expecting.
The errors are along the lines of -
Could not lock System preferences. UNIX error code 905138972.
java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences$3 run
I have tried to determine if there is anything special that needs to be done to install on AIX and have not come across any information so far but it does seem like I need to do something with the preferences API...Has anyone encountered similar problems when installing the WAS JMS client on AIX?
Regards, |

Are you trying to do an install while not being root? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Initially, I did attempt to install while not being root and this failed with the errors I indicated previously. After a chat with a colleague, I then tried to install as root but I still get those errors. |

I've resolved this issue now. To anyone interested, simply specify the
"-text -silent" flags and it will install!
It seems that if these options are omitted then the install script will be waiting for some input to confirm that you accept the licence agreement - even though you are never prompted on screen. |
