Hi,
How can I make use the same initiation queue for 2 cics region up at the same time? The reason I asked bcoz in our environment, for those 24x7 availabilty, they would have a clone region to cater for it and when they bring up this clone region, the actual region still up and the transaction request coming will point to the clone region. The actual region is going down only after a few hours some maintenance job completed. Can I share the initq?
TIA

Joepanjang,
You can share the same INITQ by two trigger monitors from two different CICS regions as long as the two regions connected to the same Queue Manager. We have similar set up and it works very well.
But, the triggered transaction will be run in either of the CICS regions depending on which trigger monitor picked up the trigger message from INITQ. Usually the trigger messages will be shared evenly between the two regions.
But in your case, if you want to route the traffic to one CICS region, you will have to stop the trigger monitor in the other region.
Hope this helps,
