Hi,
I am trying to migrate our MQ 6.0.0.1 from solaris to RHEL 5 x86_64. I have gotten it installed and run through verification steps (creating testing queue, etc.). Now I need to tweak the kernel, and I am unable to find the right syntax for red hat. The solaris commands are:
#projadd -c "WebSphere MQ default settings"
-K "proces.max-file-descriptor=(basic, 10000,deny)"
-K "project.max-shm-memory=(priv,4GB,deny)"
-K "project.max-sem-ids=(priv,1024,deny)" group mqm
I know RH pretty well and I don't take these settings lightly (hence the posting here). I have been looking around at the sysctl command and I still don't see the right commands to use. Or, can I edit /etc/sysctl.conf? Would that be the right file to edit? If so, how do I translate the items in parenthesis?
Any help is greatly appreciated ---

Rather than trying to implement commands from one OS onto a completely different one, why don't you read the Installation manual for the OS you're actually installing on. It will tell you want you need.
