I get the AMQ4765 "Ensure the prerequisite 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)' is installed before continuing installation of the this fax pack."

Only problem is, I already have installed this Visual C++ x64 package (and repaired, removed reinstalled, re-everything). I can also see the package in add/remove programs, and in the program files folder, so I know it's there. Only the MQ installer thinks otherwise ...
Any ideas how I can patch it to 6.0.2.1 around this error? Is there any command parameters that turns off checks like this?
Edit:
I ought to add that I am running a US version of Vista, and I installed MQ 6.0 EnUs from the CD.

Vista isn't a supported platform. (Yet).

The MQ client on Vista should be a supported configuration after applying the 6.0.2.1 pack. I have tried just installing the Client, but I still get the same error during install of the update.
I just tried with the new 6.0.2.2 patch and that gives me the same error as well. (With only the MQ Client installed on my vista laptop). After the IBM statement in the link, it looks to me like there is an issue on the x64 windows? I would like to hear from other x64 windows users that got this to work. Vista and XP alike.
I know the server is not supported on Vista, but it actually works just fine with a QM with a few local queues and the extended client on a vista, where I am doing .NET/BizTalk development. But with such a long list of problems fixed, I would like to get the patch applied.

Yeah .. I know, and my problem is with the MQ client. I can't patch the MQ client with 6.0.2.1 (or 6.0.2.2 for that matter). I did a uninstall of the whole MQ setup, deleted files after a reboot, reinstalled ONLY the Client, and got the same error. The AMQ4765.
Is there a parameter (like for a 5.3 install on XP) that will allow you to disregard requirements?
The fact that I can't pacth the whole install (QM and client) is another issue, and one I realise is not supported. But the parts I needed for development and testing were actually working just fine. I just wanted to patch it up as the list of errors fixed were quite long.

Just wanted to update with the solution ....
I now succeded in getting the 6.0.2.2 installed on my Vista Xp, and I have both the Queue Manager, the .NET interface and the MQ Extended Client installed, ans working fine.
First I found this article, that told me what to do (add a registry key):

But it didn't work ... because it turned out that I was supposed to add the string value VC80Redistcheck to another place than what the article said.
The key had to go here, like this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\MQSeries\CurrentVersion\Maintenance Applied]
"Shipped"="0.0"
"Maint_2.0"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\IBM\\WebSphere MQ\\Maint_2.0"
"VC80Redistcheck"="0"
Hope that gets google indexed and helps someone ...

windows server 2008 R2 standard edition.
Installed MQ 6,, then tried to patch to version 6.0.2.4.
After installing 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)' and applied your fix it all worked!
