Hi Guys,

i have a queue manager with linear log...i want to move the log files older than particular date..say by example 01/12/22007...i want all the log files created prior to 01/12/2007 to be moved or archived..


can any one please suggest me ..is that possible?... (i know you can identify which particular log file is required to have restart recovery, media recovery using qmstatus command but don't know how to determine logs created prior to certain date...)

deleting files older than a certain date is trivial and not specific to MQ. Sure its possible.

But what are you going to do when your little script deletes log files older than a specific date but that happen to still be needed by the QM for restart or media recovery?

Deleting log files based on date is a bad idea.

Use the support packs for managing linear log files.
Personally I use MS0L...
