Guys I have hit a puzzling one.
I have 2 distributed qmgrs (Solaris 5.3 CSD 11) and 1 MF (6.0)
Yes I know we just haven't had the time to upgrade all to 6.0...
Here is the puzzle. The channels from dist. to MF seem not only to skip seqnum but go in doubt as well (we used resolve backout). We have not been able yet to ascertain any specific reason but suspect a difference in environment on the MF...
Here is the detail from one of the channels MF and distributed side....of course ips and ports have been obfuscated....
Hope somebody can help me clarify what is going on:
receiver:

CURMSGS(50) CURSEQNO(232629)
CURLUWID(474C6EBA10015801) STATUS(RUNNING)
Is it normal for the seqnum gap to be so big.
Is it normal to have none of the luwids match (I don't mean current(sender) to last(receiver) )
I would have expected for last sender luwid to match last received luwid at least...
Thanks for any _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I had a similar problem (albeit it occurred 3 years ago), but it may be relevant nonetheless. IBM suggested I obtain the utility CSQ4SYNC or CSQ4UTL (the utility name was tied-into a given release of M/F MQ). This will remove duplicate messages from SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNCQ. You could contact the Support Center and see if this utility still exists. |

Can you please elaborate a bit the duplicate message problem?
Would this mean like I would find the following msg seq on the SCS?:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,7 with 7 being a duplicate? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Drop me a line and I will send you a copy of an ETR I opened 4 years ago on this issue.

I'm about to leave for the day, so I'll send it to you tomorrow. |

I looked at the SCSQ and understood what you meant.
I see multiple entries (More than 2) for the relevant channels.
I asked the colleagues to open a PMR on it. (I'm still on vacation!)
Thanks for your help. I'll let the board know what will come of it. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
