Hmm. Never heard of that before. These days contract work has been on the increase in india too. You can ask for around 6-8 lakhs/Annum i feel for permanent positions. I am not sure though but the general trend is , bigger the company the lesser the pay. So go for the smaller companies and event the offshore dev centers of the global majors and then you can start talking.
Hope this helped. |

Even I would be interested in knowing which company(ies) are offering such a big packet for 3/4 years experience in MB! Wondering how much they can offer me, 8 years of experience in EAI,working in US for past 3 years (worked for big 'B' for about 4 years in India).
Shalabh 'was' with 'B'ig company afaik...elvis knows what is 'B'! |

Looks like I have released a cat among the pigeons by giving out the salary range.
I went through a round of interviews 6 months ago so I know the salary ranges.
However the situation is much better salary wise in 'B' for lateral hires(true in other places also).
I am also indirectly involved in recruiting - either as an interviewer or referrer, so I also know what other companies are offering.
Lots of people I know have either shifted recently or are actively scouting for jobs and I know what they are asking for & getting.
I stand by my salary ranges.
However I know of companies which even offer upto & beyond 10L but these are not normal scenarios so I did not mention that. _________________ Shalabh

Hi shalabh1976,
May I know which companies are these which are paying more than 8... I've hardly heard of a single one paying more than 6...
And yes ofcourse, be careful when someone offers you 8....coz a huge portion of that would be based on 'variable component' which would be company's performance and your bonus etc...
Regards. |

Hi All,
Two aspects here...
1. Getting in to a company where lots of EAI projects are there (Service based companies ) (here not that much, if you get, then great)
2. Getting in to a company where works only for one domain (say, Banking companies/FMCG like wise) in this type of companies you will get awesome packages thats for sure.....
Lots of pros and cons......
the matter is we have to take a decision and get in to any of these.
Regards
