Hi,
We have MercatorHP-UX(TM) - Version 6.7 trying to put message on a remote queue of a queue manager(MQ v 5.3) on HP UNIX(v10) box.
We had added the common userid 'mercator' used by Mercator for communication, to the mqm group of UNIX box. When Mercator tried to send a message, we got the following error at Mercator adaptor,
<TargetReport card="1" adapter="IBM WebSphere MQ (S" bytes="107" adapterreturn="-13">
<Message>Queue could not be opened</Message>
<Settings>-QMN USTCU002S1 -QN QR.OAS.STO</Settings>
</TargetReport>
So we used setmqaut to give '+all' access for 'mercator' id to the remote queue.Also verified that 'mercator' id had connect access to the queue manager as well.
Upon second try to put the message on the queue, we got the following error
<TargetReport card="1" adapter="IBM WebSphere MQ (S" bytes="107" adapterreturn="-13">
<Message>Connection Failed</Message>
<Settings>-QMN USTCU002S1 -QN QR.OAS.STO</Settings>
</TargetReport>
Also we refreshed the queue manager and mercator instance a couple of times after we used setmqaut.
Have anyone faced a similar situation???? |

Without the MQ reason code, it's very hard to be specific about your problem. "Connection failed" could be a number of things.
I also doubt the safety of solving your security problem by giving admin authority to a generic id. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

We have requested to turn the trace on for Mercator adapter, so that we can get hold of the actual problem. |

Solid plan. Once you have a reason code, refer to the IBM docs and search this forum - most of the likely connection issues (and security issues) have been discussed in here at one time or another. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And as you are changing OS affiliations you should issue a refresh security on the qmgr.... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
