At my current installation I requested a backup of a queue manager (AIX-based, V5.3) but the SSL attributes did not appear in the output.
Having determined that a 'back-level' copy of saveqmgr was used I asked for the back-up to be repeated using the latest version, but the output was still missing the SSL attributes (This file generated by SAVEQMGR V6.0.3 from the header).
I'm at a bit of a loss here, anyone else come up against this? I'm in the middle of an audit so manually having to go and check these attributes is going to be a bit of a bind . _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.

Jeff's on holiday, so I'll help ...
I assume you're referring to channel attributes like SSLCIPH ?
If the qmgr level >= 530 and you have 6.0.3 of saveqmgr, they should be generated ... can you send me the output that saveqmgr is producing to wschutz@us.ibm.com and I'll take a look? Also send along the stderr output .... Thanks -w _________________ -wayne |

I've followed up from Wayne's post with exerk.
Saveqmgr is being passed an invalid value for the -v flag of "5.3". Valid values include 2, 5,51,52,53, and 6.
So the solution is to either use -v 53, or to not use the -v flag at all... the later is the preferred option. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks guys...
I didn't pick up on the -v switch on the command line I was sent and the first lot of input I received I didn't have the command line used so I made assumptions
mea culpa and feeling less of an eagle and more like a turkey! _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
