Hi

This is an eclipse issue,

Delete the workbench.xml which you can find in workspace directory.

I suspect we already discussed this issue in this forum.
Let us know the status.

Thanks and Regards

I've just hit this problem. Windows Server 2003, MQ 6.0.2.1. It was working a few days ago (not sure when it stopped).

No sign of any files called workbench.xml (lots of contexts_Workbench.xml files Ecplise directory) on the server. And there isn't in a server thats working as well.

I have tried strmqcfg -i followed by strmqcfg -c.

Any idea's?

Cheers,

Chris.

What do you get when the tool starts up - I mean, after the error message, what perspective are you in and what do you see?

I'm in no perspective. If I try to open WebSphere MQ Explorer perspective I get:

Problems opening perspective
'com.ibm.mq.explorer.ui.internal.perspective.mqperspective'[/img]

You can't actually be in "no" perspective. You might be in the Resource perspective.

Do you have an option to Switch Workspaces, in the File menu?

If so, try that.

What has changed, recently? Did you install something? Uninstall something?

I would still describe it as "no perspective" given that I can open the Java perspective OK and then close it so I am back where I was. You are as if you did "Close all perspectives".

No switch Workspace option - just perspective stuff.

Nothing installed/uninstalled that I am aware of.

To enable the Switch Workspace, go to preferences and change the startup for WebSphere MQ Explorer to start up in an Eclipse workbench, rather than as a standalone app.

Just tried the reboot the server option - still the same.....

Can't change the MQ Explorer perferences -

Unable to create the selected preference page

Reason: Plugin com.ibm.mq.explorer.ui was unable to load class com.ibm.mq.explorer.ui.preferences.PreferencePageMain

I have check the CLASSPATH variable with a server that works - they are the same. User logged on as is an Administrator.

You're busted but good.

Time for a reinstall.

D@nm - a straight uninstall/reinstall did not fix it (keeping the Queue Manager) - same problem.

I now have a problem where I can't start the QM under its domain user, and if I start it using strmqm it ends when I log off. I can start it using our monitoring tool but it runs under SYSTEM.

Just wondering if I should have deleted the MQ service after the uninstall? The service is running under the domain user. I think the problem is in that area.

Anyone any other idea's? Otherwise I guess its rebuild the whole server.

Thanks for your input so far Jeff.

Cheers,

Chris.

I would have only uninstalled/reinstalled the MQ Explorer component...

To focus on the MQExplorer problem - delete the entire workspace. The default workspace is c:\documents and settings\<user>\Application Data\IBM\MQ Explorer\

See if MQExplorer starts up then.

I concur - just had the same issue and moved the folder out of the path - retried the WMQ Explorer, watched it rebuild that (folder) and the WMQ Explorer is back in business. That's why I come to this site first for answers. Thanks
