I need to install MQV6 on an AIX box, and I cant see anything about a reboot, doing a search applying CSD dont need reboot but cant see anything about fresh installs.

did you install it, you were telling you need to.
then you said you can't see anything

execute this command and find out
lslpp -L all | grep -i mq

Unix machines don't need to be rebooted for any normal operating tasks.

Sorry meant I couldn't see anything in the instructions that may indicate a reboot.

no ti've not installed yet. just needed to know if I needed to schedule any down time, although its a test server one of the teams is doing some stuff on it.

Nah, like Jeff said no reboot, but check that all your semaphore settings meet the requirements spelled out in the Quick Beginnings Guide. If not the Sys Admin will have to tweak those and reboot before you install MQ.

As well clean all shared memory (amqiclen) after shutting down MQ and before upgrading...
