How does the Configuration Manager handle deployment to a cluster of Brokers? Does it deploy the BAR file to one broker then to the next?

There is no such thing as a "cluster" of brokers.

Brokers can be in pub/sub topologies.

Brokers can use qmgrs that are clustered.

Every deployment is done to a specific execution group on a specific broker.

Thanks for clearing this up. I had been told by a couple of engineers that brokers can be clustered. I could not find anything on the IBM site which stated such.

The Brokers' Queue Managers can participate in MQ Clusters.
and/or
A Broker and its QM can run a server that is part of a hardware cluster.

But in either case you can only deploy to 1 EG on 1 Broker at a time.

Does the Config manager deploy to each execution group serially or concurrently?

The BAR file is sent to the Broker/EG group you specify and processed on arrival. If you deploy to an number of EGs then they will be in various stages of completion

You can only tell the ConfigMgr to deploy to one EG.

You can use the ConfigMgrProxyAPI to automate this in a repetitive manner... I believe someone has even published a devWorks article on this.
