Under the properties of the Trace node, if I set Destination to User Trace, where would my trace file end up in?

And under the Operations tab, I can set the User Trace to None, Normal, and Debug. What's the difference?

Thanks. [/b]

If you set destination to User trace then you will ned to use mqsireadlog (or wmqireadlog?) and mqsiformatlog to view it (see Admin Guide). This just puts the output from the trace node to this log.

Under the operations tab, selecting trace would turn on trace for the whole msg flow or execution group. Experiment and see what you want to use. You probably don't need debug trace unless you are instructed to use it by IBM support.

Regards,
Vicky

Well, I've just tested it on my test broker (residing on NT machine). Both mqsireadlog and mqsiformatlog works. But mqsireadlog will extract all the trace logs in the entire execution group. Is it possible if I want to extract only trace logs from specific message flows or specific trace nodes?

Also, mqsireadlog will extract not only the trace logs, but basically most of EVERYTHING the broker is doing. Is it possible for me to extract ONLY the trace logs?

And I tried to test the commands on my actual broker (residing on USS partition of an OS/390 system), but couldn't find either mqsireadlog or mqsiformatlog. Are the command syntax the same?

Thanks!

Venu,

I was also talking about Operation tab. In this view you should see the Refresh button on the toolbar. Click on this button to refresh your operation view.
