Hi
Can MQ 6.0 be installed using java.1.1.7 version.
The issue is , their is a legacy application and which uses java 1.1.7 and uses MQ 5.3 and now we have to move to MQ 6.0 ..
Is their any implication if i install MQ 6.0 on java 1.1.7 ???

You can of course install as many different Java levels as you need, and segrigate them with paths.
Not exactly ideal, or espcially maintainable (and I leave it to wiser minds than mine to determine if IBM would consider such an arrangement supported) but it might be worth consideration as a short term thing. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

The only portions of MQ that uses Java is a) the Eclipse based MQ Explorer, and b) the Java SDK.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if you're able to compile a JDK 1.1.x app against the v6 Java MQ SDK.
But really, it's time to recompile this app against a newer Java and consider refactoring it, too! This is exactly the kind of change that should allow you to justify reworking the design to meet new business requirements.
If this is a commercial application, then you need to either upgrade it to a new version that supports MQ v6 or you need to convince the application seller to support MQ v5.3, now that IBM doesn't. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
