You could email anything, including an SMS provider or write a JCN to initiate whatever SMS transmitter software you're using.

V6.1 has an EmailOutput node that uses SMTP.
I don't know of a node that uses SMS, but there are several Java packages that support this, so you may be able to write one using a JavaCompute node. |

Unless you wanted to send the SMS as an email. Many providers allow you to send an SMS through this method. For example if you wanted to send an sms to +919835255869 in India, the email id could be +919836255869@airtelworld.com (just an example)
This has to be supported by the service provider though. This was a free service a few years ago but for most providers is a VAS(Value Added Service) now(that is paid).
So if thats the case use the send mail plugin.
