Hi,
I have been asked to design and setup the WebSphere MQ 6.0 Cluster Environment in AIX Environment.
I have two machines which has installed AIX5L and WebSphere MQ 6.0 (on two LPARs).
The plan is to setup the MQ cluster with three Queue Managers in the cluster (QM1, QM2 and QM3) for workload management - If one nodes is reached maximum workload then new request will be transfer/redirect to other cluster node like round robbing algorithem.
I have also asked to implement the failver in aboe MQ cluster environment if one AIX node (network, machine, maintenace, hdd) goes down then other cluster member node will take the charge to responding the request immediately.
Can anyone please suggest me about whats the best method to acheive above high availablilty?
Do we need any other exertnal software tool other than AIX box? |

Hi , if you cluster these 3 queue managers then messages would go to these 3 queue managers in round robin fashon by default, provided the sending application is also part of cluster. if sending application is not part of cluster then u need to choose one queue manager as gateway queue manager and need to route all the messages to the other two cluster queue managers using this gateway queue manager, if you need MQ failover then you need to have special high availability hard ware , or you can manuvally failover to other server using IBM MQ Support pack MC91 _________________ regards,

You don't need special hardware, you need more hardware and the HACMP software if you're running AIX.
But the support pac will indeed give you guidence on configuring it for use with MQ. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And please don't ask where the SupportPac is. Please try to find it on your own. It's not hard, I guarantee! _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Better still, employ me to do it. How much budget are we talking about here? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
