Hi,
I'm using MQ5.1 on Tru64. I've a couple of channel expiration related questions. Thanks in advance.
1. I noticed channel exits normally after certain idle period. How to prevent this, ie. keep channel always running ?
2. I checked channel attributes, and set heart beat interval to 2 sec on both sending and receiving sides, after I start channel, I don't see any actions after 2 secs. What's supposed to happen after heart beat interval if channel is idle ?
3. what are the drawbacks to keep channel always running ? (by the way, triggering is not working consistently at my environment)

One way to keep the channel up is by having DISCINT = 0. |

Sky,
To answer #2, the heartbeat interval doesn't come into play until the channel goes into RETRYING mode. While the channel may be idle, the status of it is still RUNNING, and when the disconnect interval is reached, the channel simply becomes inactive. The only time the channel goes into RETRYING mode is when there is a network/configuration problem. _________________ Brandon Duncan
