how do i know if CAF is installed on Z/OS or not if i have to check myself? also if CAF is not installed what is the alternative?

Please help me here.

Try and establish a client connection to the z/OS. If it works the CAF is installed.

Define a queue manager on a distributed platform, client onto that & use it as a gateway into the z/OS.

Or you could do the obvious by asking whoever administrates MQSeries on your z/OS platform.

If it is installed you will see the following in the CHIN started task just after startup:

+CSQX011I +cpf CSQXGIP CLIENT ATTACHMENT FEATURE AVAILABLE
