Apologies if this has been asked before, I searched for a similar problem but couldn't find anything
I am trying to start a Queue Manager from Websphere Explorer (version 6.0.2.1 running on Windows 2000 server) and getting the following error:
17/10/2007 10:16:21 - Process(1176.2) User(sv-mqim6163) Program(amqmsrvn.exe)
AMQ7880: Error code 65 starting QMNAME/Queue Manager WebSphere MQ service.
EXPLANATION:
The service was unable to start QMNAME/Queue Manager. The error message
reported was as follows: AMQ7041: Object already exists.
ACTION:
Use WebSphere MQ Explorer to investigate why the service could not begin. If
recovery for this service is active, MQ will attempt to recover.
I know that the account it is trying to start with is a valid user ( I have created a test QM, which will start from Explorer). I can start the QM from the command line using strmqm, but that runs under my logon I think, which means that when I log off the box the QM stops.
The whole server was cloned from another box as part of a Disaster Recovery solution, and I can't see any obvious differences in the objects between the original queue manager (which will start from Explorer) and this one.
Does anyone know of a way I can get a more meaningful error message out of MQ so that it will tell me which object is already defined, or how I can 'Use WebSphere MQ Explorer to investigate why the service could not begin.'
It doesn't appear to generate any FDC files for this, and there are no messages relating to this in the @SYSTEM or QM errors, only at the MQ level.
Thanks

Enough said. Your user management on Windows has probably created new userId values for the same username... and as such some usernames that you think are being used have a userid that corresponds to nothing known on the system you are running....
Same thing for group management...

Sorry, but I don't really understand what this means. The account that I am trying to start the queue manager with on both boxes is a domain account (in the regional group domain mqm). If it was a local user I could understand this (maybe!). But I have tried creating a queue manager on the original box with the same name as the test queue manager on the clone box, and I was able to create and start it using the amqmdain comand through the Explorer (the clone test QM was running at the time). |
