The File Extender Input node does not have the ability to show you a list of message definitions as provided by the MQInput node. You will have to enter that information manually.
V6.1 plug: The new File nodes in V6.1 do not have this problem. _________________ Bill Matthews |

Hi,
I have a problem with the File Extender FILE Input node which does not have the ability to validate the input.I think it may be because of the validation tab in the property of file input node which is not available in WMBFE V5.0 (WMB V6.0).
I tried with RCD node for validation. But it does not respond when files with big size are sent.
Can anyone kindly help me on this on how to validate the file which is sent to the flow?
Thanks in advance! |

The use of MBFE on Broker 5 is probably out of support. If you could replicate the problem on V6 then you might find raising a PMR the way to go.
The more recent versions of Broker has improved the arreas of Validation quite considerably but as MBFE is essentially the work of a 3rd party and one that has virtually been integrated into the main producy from V6.1, I wouldn't expect much more support to be forthcoming. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Hi,
Thanks for your reply!
Actually i'm using WMB V6.0.2 and file extender version 5.0.0.2
Is it still not possible to validate the file using file input node?
Here we cant upgrade to wmb v6.1 now.
Can you suggest any other way to validate the files with large size?
Thanks in advance! |

MBFE 5.0.0.2 is not the latest fixpack. Some extensive testing I did with the product several years ago now resulted in at least one fix that went into FP3 AFAIK.
I would raise a PMR however. If it does validate small files and chokes on large ones then it sounds like a product defect. As these nodes use Java under the hood, there might be a JVM limit that you are hitting here. As I say, the only way to really get to the bottom of this is to raise a PMR. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
actually file input node is not validating any files.I tried with RCD node which is validating small size files.
Can you tell me the name of the latest fix pack that can be applied to make the validation work?
so that i can raise PMR including that details.
Thanks in Advance! |

30 seconds on the www.ibm.com site would have told you that the latest FP is FP4 released 18-Feb-2008. _________________ WMQ User since 1999
