We are looking at how to handle having to have to make production changes to a flow because of a production problem from home or another remote location. We certainly do not want to have control center on everyone's home PC, we do not have notebooks any longer. Let me know what other experiences are? VNC? Terminal Server?
Thank you in advance for any input!! |

I have used VNC, Terminal Services, and PCAnywhere to connect to WMQI server. I never had any problem using Control Center with these s/w's. You will have problems using MQSeries Explorer/Services thru Terminal Services though. I prefer to use VNC for this. _________________ Kiran

Do all your developers have VNC or pcanywhere on their work machine and then do their work from home for example over vpn and then use VNC? If you use terminal server - how many control center sessions can it support? I am not sure our very committed security folk will let us use VNC to our own work machine - I am also looking not only for Control Center but also for Clearcase and IDE. The developers at my company do not have laptops for the most part and we need to be able to support development from home for production support purposes.
Thanks for your help |

Well, I use to work from home for one of our client. We (3 users) use to connect thru VPN connection to the client network, everyone had VNC client installed on their desktop. There is no limit on number of Control Center sessions you can run on WMQI server. Your machine memory is the limit here! Terminal Server may have a limit on number of connections it will allow. _________________ Kiran
