Hey All,
My second question on this forum on the second day of joining. Its again related to the design considerations of Mapping node. I read somewhere that mapping node is not performant.
When do you think we should choose mapping node instead of compute node. one case is when the mappings rules are pretty simple and no complex business logics are involved.
To summarize, when should I use mapping node?

So, what, tommorow are you going to ask what platform it's better to use?
Maybe you should spend some time searching for all the other discussions that have been had here.

The answer to this is much the same as the answer to your previous question - it depends on your skill set. Mapping will beat Java for a simplistic conversion, but if all your people are Java people it will be unmaintainable. Likewise ESQL is faster at complex transformations (generally - discussion in your other post referes) but if you've just got Java people is it worth it? Or should you cross train?
Read the forum, judge the opions, do some proof of concepts, look at your site, look at your requirements and then decide what's best for you.
For instance, the site I'm at is using JCN for all new development because they have a large Java developer pool, and are taking any issues on performance & complexity on the chin.

Hmm..Thats a great suggestion I would like to follow. But as I have said already I am a regular visitor of this site and the only reason the question was asked because I didnt get a proper answer anywhere after seraching. May be you can help me getting a proper convincing answer which is already mentioned in the forum.
Definitely I would like to put forward questions and thats what this forum is for. |

Thanks for the suggestion and will definitely do some more research of finding a proper answer. Will summarize and let you know people about my findings. |
