Hi there,
Is there a way to see what the default queue manager on a system is? How can I change the default queue manager?
I am using an old version of MQ...
Thank you,

Issue a runmqsc command (or equivalent) with no queue manager specified & see which one it connects to.
If your version is old enough and the platform's right there may be a file called qm.ini that contains the information.

Define a new queue manager & make that the default. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You could try running runmqsc without any parameter to see which queue manager it connects to - that would be the default.
Then refer to the documentation for whatever platform and version of MQ you are using to change the default queue manager... which I imagine won't be particularly different from the help found in the MQv6 Infocenter:

Use the General WebSphere® MQ properties page from the WebSphere MQ Explorer, or the DefaultQueueManager stanza in the mqs.ini file to specify the default queue manager. |

Look at DefaultQueueManager stanza in mqs.ini on host for which you want to see the default queue manager. _________________ Make three correct guesses consecutively and you will establish a reputation as an expert. ~ Laurence J. Peter |
