Hi there,

Is there a way to see what the default queue manager on a system is? How can I change the default queue manager?
I am using an old version of MQ...

Thank you,
Gibbs00

Issue a runmqsc command (or equivalent) with no queue manager specified & see which one it connects to.

If your version is old enough and the platform's right there may be a file called qm.ini that contains the information.

Define a new queue manager & make that the default.

You could try running runmqsc without any parameter to see which queue manager it connects to - that would be the default.

Then refer to the documentation for whatever platform and version of MQ you are using to change the default queue manager... which I imagine won't be particularly different from the help found in the MQv6 Infocenter:
Quote:
Use the General WebSphere® MQ properties page from the WebSphere MQ Explorer, or the DefaultQueueManager stanza in the mqs.ini file to specify the default queue manager.

Cheers,
Vicky

Look at DefaultQueueManager stanza in mqs.ini on host for which you want to see the default queue manager.
