Hi there,

I'm trying to install WMQ5.3 on AIX 5 using smit.

NOTE: I'm a newbie to UNIX environment specially for WMQ installation.

I have mount the WMQ software CD on AIX machine in a /mnt folder. Now I have following folders/files in the /mnt folder on AIX machine:

1 - .toc (file)
2 - READMEs (folder)
3 - gskak.rte (file)
3 - licenses (folder)
4 - mqm (folder)

I'm using following smit options:
smit
Software Installation and Maintenance
Install and Update Software
Install Software
* Input device / directory for software [/mnt]
Software to Install [_all_latest]

I tried different options with Software to Install field but nothing working.

My question is what i should mentioned on Software to Install field?

Please help me out here.

You should really be installing v6 instead of v5.3.

If you hit, I think, F4 when Software to Install is selected, then you can see a list of available packages. That will show if you're in the right directory, at least.

I bet you have to be in /mnt/mqm
