Sure, Avikal Jain. I was thinking that the original poster might have a question about interpreting the dotted format, I hope you don't mind.

I have 6.0 on Windows, but it has been patched. So my memo.ptf shows the correct information.

The only theory I can think of is that the memo.ptf was a sloppy leftover from v5.3 which was corrected in a fix or refresh. I wonder it it will appear correctly if you patch your installation?

Also, I am curious where in the filesystem you found the PTF. Mine was in subdirectoy called "PTF". This is different than the PTFs from 5.3 which appeared in the root of the MQ directory.

It's a puzzle.

i've found out that in following directory

C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\PTF\en_us

by the way when you say that i need my mq to be patched

i am sure it does mean upgrading my mq with the refresh pack

am i right

as already pointed, i have never ever installed mq ver 5.3 on this computer but there is one thing i would like to let you know is as i am using 90 day trial i have installed mq v 6.0 two times but it doesn makes any sense that memo would have changed after that

Akival,

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I wonder if the trial version just has a bug or something. Yes, by upgrading, I refer to installing the latest fix pack. Are you thinking about trying that, maybe?
